Which wood should you pick?

Acacia is the lightest in colour and the lowest priced, from $925 CAD for the 47-inch desk. Pheasantwood sits in the middle, from $1,050, with a fine speckled figure. Walnut is the darkest, with an even grain, from $1,200. The same size costs the same on a black or white frame, so the choice is the look you want next to your floor and walls.

Caring for a solid wood top

Solid wood moves with the seasons. Keep indoor humidity between 40 and 60 percent, use a humidifier through the dry winter months, and use coasters for drinks; repeated puddles can distort the surface. Slight seasonal movement is normal and is not a defect.
