How a Monitor Arm Improves Your Workspace
A monitor arm lifts your screen to eye level and clears the desk beneath it, so you can work without leaning in or craning your neck. effydesk builds two, a single monitor arm for one display and a dual monitor arm for two side by side, both in aircraft aluminium with a removable channel that hides your cables. They fit standard VESA monitors (75 x 75 and 100 x 100) and mount by clamp or grommet, so they work with most desks and screens. Not sure which one suits your setup, or whether an arm beats a stand or a riser? Our monitor mount buying guide walks through the choice by screen count and desk type.

Should I get a single or dual monitor arm?
Choose a single arm if you use one main display, and a dual arm if you run two screens side by side. A dual arm lines both screens up at a matched height and angle, which is hard to get right with two separate stands. If you are weighing an arm against a stand or a riser, our monitor mount buying guide walks through the choice.
What is VESA, and will my monitor fit?
VESA is the standard pattern of four screw holes on the back of a monitor, measured in millimetres. effydesk's arms support the two most common sizes, 75 x 75 and 100 x 100, which covers nearly every mainstream monitor. Check the back of your screen for four holes in a square, or look for "VESA" on its spec sheet.
How much weight can the arms hold?
The single monitor arm holds screens up to 26.4 lb, and the dual arm holds up to 19.8 lb per screen. They fit 17 to 36 inches for the single and 17 to 32 inches for the dual. Check your monitor's weight against the rating before you buy, and take extra care with heavy or sharply curved screens.
Can I use a monitor arm with a curved or ultrawide monitor?
Yes, as long as the monitor is within the arm's size and weight limits. Curved and ultrawide screens shift the balance point, so you may need to turn up the gas-spring tension to hold the angle. It helps to check your monitor's width and weight against the arm's rating before you buy.
