1. Throw Blankets

Cozy throw blankets are the quickest, simplest way to add a splash of colour to your desk chair! With so many colours and patterns to choose from, it’s easy to pick one that ties your office together. 

It’s important to pick the right material for your blanket! If you like to be warm and cozy while you’re working, try a light fleece blanket with sherpa wool. They’re soft, comfy, and come in a variety of colours. 

If the other residents in your house often crank the thermostat, make sure you choose a lighter blanket material like cotton or light linen. Stay cozy without breaking a sweat!

2. Colourful Cushions

If your office chair needs a smaller accessory than a blanket, why not add a cushion? You can get cushions printed with motivational quotes, funny animals, or even Nicolas Cage’s face!

Small cushions are inexpensive and can even support your back in a pinch. If you decide to sit at your dining table for a while, take your pillow with you for some temporary back support before you return to your office chair. 3. DIY Lap Blankets

Feeling crafty? Try a do-it-yourself blanket that requires no sewing at all! With just two pieces of fleece, a pair of scissors, and about an hour of work, you’ll have a handmade fleece blanket to drape around your shoulders as the winter chill sets in. 

If that’s too simple, try this T-Shirt blanket project. You’ll be up-cycling your old clothes and creating a unique blanket for yourself at the same time! This one requires a little more sewing know-how, but this simple tutorial walks you through it step by step. 

4. DIY Cushions

If you can make your own blankets--you guessed it, you can make your own cushions! You can make these cushions (below) with some fabric and whatever else you have lying around the house. No sewing required--you can use fabric glue, hot glue, or even iron-on tape.

Want to keep with the “up-cycling” them? Search around in your closet for a shirt or cozy sweater you don’t wear any more. You can repurpose these and make no-sew shirt cushion covers, or a sweater cushion cover!

5. Stretchy Chair Covers

For a completely different look on your office chair, try an office chair cover set. These covers are made of a stretchy material to fit over the backs and the seats of most ergonomic office chairs. The light, breathable fabric means you can customize your chair without compromising on comfort!
